Hi Everyone, Although today marks the painful 2-month milestone since my daughter Sierra went missing, my family and I remain positive and confident that she will be back home safe with us soon. The outstanding care, love and support that the community has shown, enables my family and I to cope with this day and all the previous days since March 16. We are so thankful for this. We will continue to do everything we can to find Sierra and bring her back safe to us. I ask everyone to keep Sierra in your hearts, thoughts, and prayers. Sierra LaMar Search Information – Volunteers Needed

ONGOING SEARCH EFFORTS - Volunteer search efforts take place in the Morgan Hill, CA area. All volunteers must register at Burnett Elementary School between the hours of 8am - 9am on the day of the search. For additional search information, please call 408-201-6364. Location: Burnett Elementary School - 85 Tilton Road in Morgan Hill, CA Date of Search: Ongoing - Every SaturdayÂ Â (Wednesday search suspended for now) Time: Check in between 8am - 9am (with I.D.)

The Find Sierra Search Center is located at Burnett Elementary School at 85 Tilton Road in Morgan Hill, CA. Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age and bring photo identification. Please dress appropriately for the weather, wear long pants and sturdy, covered toe shoes. Searches will be by foot and be prepared for a variety of terrain from fields to dense woods including areas with increasing elevation. Bring items that prove useful: small backpack to carry water and snacks; bug spray and pre poison oak lotion; hiking stick or golf club and gloves. We need people who can do foot searches as well as individuals who are willing to work in the Find Sierra Search Center. We are also looking for search and office supply donations as follows:

Gift cards to Staples & Safeway for Find Sierra LaMar Search Center Supplies

Tecnu or similar poison oak lotion

Insect Repellant

There will be breakfast, lunch, snacks and water provided for all volunteers. Thank you in advance for your help bringing Sierra home. 5/13/2012 - Motherâ€™s Day is a time of reflection on what being a mom has brought to your life. Being a mom has been the greatest joy of my life. From the moment I knew that a little life was growing inside me, there was an overwhelming need to protect and nurture my child. Itâ€™s not always an easy job. A child develops ideas of their own. Sometimes a mom might disagree because of personal experiences and wisdom. We hover, discipline and teach them to be responsible. We do these things because of our unconditional love for our children! I hope as mothers, we guide them to make good choices. Sierra is my miracle baby. I was told that because of my age, the likelihood of getting pregnant was slim. I knew she was going to be strong-willed the moment the doctor saw on the ultrasound that she was doing somersaults in utero. Regardless of the work it takes to raise children, the overwhelming love far outweighs those moments that you wonder how youâ€™ll ever make it through. The greatest gift that God has blessed me with is the joy of being a mom to two beautiful daughters. I love you Danielle and Sierra and Iâ€™m so proud to be your mom.

Investigators Have Car Possibly Connected to Disappearance of Missing Teen Sierra LaMar

The Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office says it has located the red Volkswagen Jetta that investigators believe may be connected to the disappearance of Morgan Hill teen Sierra LaMar. The sheriff's office would not say when or where the vehicle was found, or the circumstances that led to its discovery. "It's still an open investigation," Sgt. Jose Cardoza said. "They don't want to compromise the investigation." Investigators are still asking to speak with anyone who may have seen the VW Jetta, which is distinctive because it has black hood, or had contact with the occupants in the car in southern Santa Clara County around the time Sierra disappeared on the morning of March 16. She was last seen at her home in unincorporated Morgan Hill, located near Palm and Dougherty avenues. "They need information from people who saw it just before, during or after," Cardoza said. "They need people to come forward." The sheriff's office on Monday put out a press release asking for the public's help "with any information associated to the vehicle" and put out a generic photo. On Tuesday the sheriff's office released photos of the actual car they believe is associated to the girl's disappearance.
